Week 30

Guess What?? It's that time again!! :) McBaby Update!! It's only been 3 weeks since since my last email, but it seems like so much has happened!! My little brother got married, I've turned a year older, and progress on the nursery has begun!! We have furniture - hooray!! We also had our 30 week doctor's appointment yesterday! Jason & Alex got married this last Saturday, September the 3rd. I tell you what - those Oakley men sure clean up well! Jason looked so handsome in his tux, and Alex looked absolutely gorgeous in her princess-style wedding dress. They got married at Wichita State University's chapel, and had a beautiful reception at the Airport Hilton. They're currently on their honeymoon... which started off in Myrtle Beach, and then were heading to a second (secret) location. I can't tell you where.... because Alex is on my email list, and I don't know if they are there yet!! (Alex: Hope Jason surprised you - and you are both having the time of your lives!!) Welcome to the family Alex, and I love you both VERY VERY much!! My birthday was a little extra special this year. Probably because I'm pregnant, and most likely because I'm extra emotional. Yes... I'm blaming it on the hormones. :) It was just amazing to think 27 years ago my mom was going through what I will soon be going through. Bringing another little human being into the world. It makes me feel so much closer to my mom, and to 'moms' in general. To know the tremendous love you feel for a little person you've never even met.... it's pretty amazing, isn't it 'moms'?? Yes... I'm becoming cheesy... I think that's another mom trademark that I'm acquiring, hmmmm.... :) Since I had baby on my brain on my birthday (and everyday - when it's kicking you in the ribs constantly... it's impossible not to think of baby!!)... I decided I wanted a day full of baby-activities!! Gabe, the wonderful husband he is, put the crib together (THANK YOU Grandma & Grandpa 'O' for McBaby's crib!!). While Gabe was putting the finishing touches on the crib, my parents stopped by to take me baby/birthday shopping. Dad helped Gabe put in the last few screws/bolts. Then... mom, dad, and Gabe moved the dresser into the nursery (THANK YOU Grandma Karen for baby's dresser!!). It's amazing how two pieces of furniture really transformed the empty room into a 'nursery'. We still have a ways to go - but it will soon have everything we need for the little stinker's arrival. :) Enjoy a few pics of the nursery-in-progress! I'll make the doctor appointment visit quick!! We saw Dr. Jensen yesterday (Wednesday the 7th) for our 30 week appointment. Baby is back to growing - 4 cm this time in 3 weeks. I'm currently measuring at 36 cm's.... 36 cm's = 36 weeks. We received our results from my blood work they took last appointment, and everything looked great! Baby's heart rate was at 136 bpm, so we've droped from 138 from our last appointment, and from 144 from the very first time that we've heard it!! Another sign it might be a boy - maybe!? Our next appointment is in two weeks - September 21st!! I've also started a blog for McBaby. I got the idea from my friend Erin (thank you Erin - I'm copying off of you!) who is pregnant, and due in January. I'll be putting all the McBaby updates on there, and will also hopefully keep up with it after baby is here. That way I can post pics, and special little moments with our little one. :) Don't worry - I'll be sure to email you all and have you 'check' it when I post something new.
